Chairs, Central & Southwestern CT Outreach

The Central & Southwestern CT Outreach Chairs build and sustain relationships with the community at large. This role works to forge valuable connections between our chapter and local businesses, other creative organizations, potential sponsors, student groups, and educators. They work to advance the chapter’s visibility and to raise awareness of the role of design in the business world. 

The Central CT Outreach Chair will focus on Hartford and surrounding areas while the Southwestern CT Outreach Chair will focus on all areas between New Haven and Greenwich. To ensure department efforts are being effectively managed, Chairs are encouraged to recruit committee members to assist with various duties as needed. Responsibilities include:

  • Organize community-minded events
  • Host 1 social event at a design studio per year and organize quarterly networking events to foster relationships between the creative community and industry business
  • Identify themes and topics for community-minded events and conversations
  • Lead monthly community meetings
  • Connect, engage, and foster relationships with local designers and potential partners and sponsors
  • Create and manage relevant resources and documents
  • Help with registration/check-in at AIGA events
    as needed
