Empowering Connecticut’s Creative Community

Our Mentorship Program fosters meaningful partnerships between design professionals at all stages of their careers. Whether you’re a student, an emerging designer, or a seasoned pro, this program offers valuable growth opportunities.

Free Program

We’re committed to providing accessible mentorship for everyone. This program is completely free of charge.

Program Structure

  • Three-month commitment typically running in the fall, from October to December
  • Matching based on interests, experience, and goals for personalized sessions
  • Minimum of two meetings per month

Benefits

  • Mentees: Gain guidance, advice, and networking opportunities from experienced professionals.
  • Mentors: Develop leadership skills, share knowledge, and expand your network.

Eligibility

  • Mentors: Highly motivated professionals in design or related fields (art direction, marketing, etc.) with a passion for learning and sharing.
  • Mentees: Design or creative professionals seeking growth, or students in their junior/senior year. Must have work samples, be self-motivated, and be open-minded.

Application Process

  • Application deadlines are typically in early fall.
  • We encourage applying early as spots are limited.

Matching & Communication

  • Based on application information.
  • Communication via email, phone, video calls, or in-person meetings

Program Activities

  • Setting goals for the partnership (skills development, career advancement, portfolio building, etc.)
  • Regular meetings to discuss progress and challenges
  • Access to resources and frameworks provided by AIGA CT

Program Conclusion

  • We celebrate achievements at a group event.
  • Encouragement to maintain the connection and continue learning from each other.

Multiple Participations Welcome

Both mentors and mentees can participate in the program multiple times, even in different roles.
