A day of pro bono professional design and marketing for local nonprofits to expand their reach.
AIGA CT Make-A-Thon is a 12-hour design marathon that partners local nonprofits with creative and strategic-minded professionals to produce quality marketing materials, pro bono. Local creative professionals will give advice, design and strategic thinking to local nonprofits. By pairing creative professionals with nonprofits we help those who are doing the work to reach larger audiences and have greater impact.
Nonprofits
Our local nonprofits struggle for the resources needed to further their missions. Having quality marketing materials can help them make a greater impact, raise awareness for their causes, and reach important donors.
Are you (or do you know) a nonprofit who needs some pro bono design collateral, design thinking, strategy, branding, a landing page, signage, or any creative at all? Reach out to Sara Haney at sarahaney@connecticut.aiga.org for more information on how to apply!
Volunteers
Creatives will work with like-minded professionals to brainstorm and strategize innovative ideas while serving our local community. By volunteering your time and skills you’re helping local nonprofits and community organizations make a greater impact in our society. Make-A-Thon empowers creatives to forge new connections, find purpose, and create an impressive portfolio item.
Having the opportunity to work with a team of marketing professionals was an absolute pleasure. The AIGA-CT team created new and innovative ideas for Filling in the Blanks’ specific goals, in a fun and informative fashion. We were provided with creative assets and an implementation plan at the completion of the Make-A-Thon.

For some time, Harc envisioned an all agency brochure that could outline our programs in a way that could be used for years to come. When the opportunity from AIGA presented itself, we were excited to finally move this project beyond a vision and into something tangible. Working with the team at AIGA was a pleasure. Their professionalism and creativity are off the charts! The final product far exceeded our expectations, and we are absolutely thrilled with how it turned out. This marketing piece will serve Harc well into the future and has now set a high bar for how our designed pieces will look moving forward.
