Charles Nix is the son of a printer. He studied art, design, and typography at The Cooper Union, and has designed hundreds of books and a handful of typefaces. For more than twenty years, he has taught at the Parsons School of Design, where he also served as Chairman of Communication Design. He is Chairman emeritus of the board of the Type Directors Club, an international organization dedicated to furthering typographic excellence. He is currently a partner at Scott & Nix, a publisher of science and nature titles. He enjoys wrestling with complex data sets, and is dedicated to bringing quality typography to both print and screen.
Matteo Bologna is the founding partner and principal of Mucca Design, where he also serves as Creative Director. The work produced by the Mucca Design team has also been widely recognized by industry publications, competitions and exhibitions, including AIGA, Communication Arts, Eye, Graphis, HOW, PRINT, the Type Directors Club, the Art Directors Club. Matteo is the Vice President of the Type Directors Club and former board member of AIGA/NY. He frequently lectures about branding and typography around the world.
Graham Clifford is a second-generation typographic designer. He was trained by his father before working for some of London’s best advertising agencies including CDP and GGT. He moved to New York in 1989 and plied his craft at Chiat/Day and Ogilvy. In 1994 the germ of independence took root and he opened his own design consultancy collaborating with agencies on global brands and directly with smaller clients on projects including advertising, logo design and brand identity. Clients have included: Dell, Ford, Microsoft, American Express, Merrill Lynch, Rolex, Glenlivet, L.A. Times, Virgin Atlantic, Molson, Gateway Computers, Teany, Orbitz, Reebok, Arnette, ESPN, The One Club, Moet & Chandon, History Channel, Hospital for Special Surgery, Absolut, HP, Kmart, AOL, Tanqueray, Martha Stewart and the Scottish Government.
