Let's walk and draw / take photos / you name it. We are taking our community meeting to the great outdoors! Join AIGA CT and ASMP CT in a hike around the lake. Bring your sketchbooks, cameras, dogs, a friend, or just your fine selves to reset and network!
Whether you're a designer, photographer, or just a lover of long walks, experience this 2.4-mile loop trail near Southington, Connecticut. Generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 58 min to complete. Click here to learn more about this trail.

- Dogs are welcome, but must be on a leash.
- Wear comfortable sneakers/boots with good treads; hiking boots, trail sneakers are recommended.
- This time of year watch out for fallen leaves and/or mud as they may be a slipping hazard.
- Dress for the weather, wear layers.
- Pack your own snacks and water for nourishment.

- Bowhunting season on this property runs Monday through Saturday from September 15-December 31. Hikers are advised not to stray from the blazed hiking trails on these dates for safety purposes.

The Hike
We will be walking Crescent Lake and Metacomet Trail Loop.
This 2.4-mile loop trail near Southington, Connecticut is generally considered a moderately challenging route, and it takes an average of 58 min to complete. This is a popular trail for birding, hiking, and running, but you can still enjoy some solitude during quieter times of day.

From the parking lot, half of the Green Trail has been reblazed Orange/Blue as a connector to the Metacomet Trail.

From I-84 East:
Take Exit 32 (Queen St.). At the end of the ramp, turn left onto Queen Street/Route 10 South. Go through 3 traffic lights. At the 4th traffic light (Oak Hill Cemetery on your left), turn left onto Flanders Street. Continue straight to 2nd stop sign (approx. 1.5 miles). Turn left onto Flanders Road. Go 0.6 miles and turn right onto Mine Hollow Road. Travel approximately 1 mile on Mine Hollow Road, passing Rogers Orchards store, and make a sharp left onto Shuttle Meadow Road. Crescent Lake will be about 0.8 miles further on your right.
From I-84 West:
Take Exit 32 (Queen St.). At the end of the ramp, turn right onto Queen Street/Route 10 South. Go through 4 traffic lights. At the 5th traffic light (Oak Hill Cemetery on your left), turn left onto Flanders Street. Follow above directions from Flanders Street to Crescent Lake.
