Christine Vasington

UConn Associate Director for Branding and Visual Identity, Lead Designer
Adjunct Instructor - Web / Interactive Media Design | Storrs
Areas of Research/Artistic Focus: Web and Graphic design, UI/UX, Accessibility web standards.
With a background in print design and production, Christine made the jump into web design and development in 2010 when she left the private advertising world and came to the University of Connecticut. She began in email design/development and quickly shifted to the lead designer on high-profile university projects such as uconn.edu, admissions.uconn.edu, today.uconn.edu, health.uconn.edu, UConn Health top clinical websites, all UConn regional campuses, and smaller scale projects such as presidentsearch.uconn.edu, excellence.uconn.edu, and other marketing web pieces.
In addition to her web responsibilities, she is the associate director of branding and visual identity for UConn, where she lends her print expertise to many projects including, print marketing campaigns, web ads, brochures, logos and signage and wayfinding for Storrs and the regional campuses. With all this experience, Christine began teaching in 2014 and found a new passion. She enjoys sharing her excitement and love the design and web with her students, and she hopes to inspire them to challenge themselves and open their eyes to a career path they might not have otherwise considered.

Maritza Quintuna

Brand Designer - Creative Strategist
A passionate and determined Latinx creative strategist on a mission to advocate for social change, with a distinct emphasis on amplifying voices and driving impactful initiatives through compelling storytelling strategies.
With over five years of experience, Maritza has seamlessly navigated roles as a graphic designer, board member, curator, and marketing specialist. This diverse background equips her with the versatility to tackle complex challenges and develop solutions that combine entrepreneurial vision, strategic insight, and a client-centered approach.
What sets her apart is her visionary mindset, enabling her to see beyond conventional boundaries and reveal the core strengths of each brand she partners with. Her ability to listen thoughtfully and without bias enables her to identify the unique spark that drives a brand’s purpose. With this insight, she develops bold, strategic ideas that challenge norms and drive innovative.
Maritza’s dedication to social change has aligned her work with nonprofits and mission-driven businesses, furthering her expertise across the education, arts, agriculture, and social sectors. This depth of experience gives her a grounded, real-world perspective that enriches her approach, ensuring that each project she undertakes not only meets but anticipates the needs of every stakeholder.
