2021-2022 AIGA CT Creative Scholarship Program

AIGA Connecticut Scholarship — $2,000

The $2,000 AIGA Connecticut Creative Scholarship program rewards high school and undergraduate students who are participating in art & design programs across Connecticut. Each year, one scholarship recipient is selected for their creative ability and demonstrated commitment to their field of study.

Winner will be honored and featured in a blog post, Slack Workspace, and highlighted on AIGA Connecticut social media accounts. The submission deadline is July 30, 2021. Incomplete and non-qualifying applications will not be considered. All completed applications will be reviewed and evaluated by a committee of judges.

Criteria

Applicants must be a high school senior; enrolled or in the process of enrolling in a Connecticut college, community college, or University.

College students must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s program within the graphic design or art industry and cannot be a Senior student.*

Requirements

3-5 pieces of original work. Submissions must be digital; PDF, links to a website, Vimeo or Youtube are all acceptable. If you have motion or web work that have individual links please include all links in one PDF file with their titles and basic information on each project.

A brief essay on why you have chosen the field in which you are majoring as a profession (250 words).

One letter of reference from a teacher, professor, mentor – anyone that can attest to your skills, personality, and drive. To submit a digital referral, share this form with your referee: https://forms.gle/eYW1Jjv48qmSwFqF9

All application materials, including the reference, must be submitted by the deadline.

* A senior is a student with less than two full semesters left required to graduate.

Selection and Notification Process

All entries will be carefully evaluated by a jury of Connecticut creative professionals. Submissions will be reviewed anonymously and the winner will be determined by a final group vote.
